Humble Beginnings
Established in 1932 by Vince Rack, J & V Rack Co started as an all family operation. Utilizing a slip scraper, plow and a team of mules, Vince, in partnership with his father (Joseph J.) and brothers (Jerry & Joe A.) as hired hands, dug basements and foundations in the Monfort Heights community. This family business would soon be without its owner as Vince enlisted as a Combat Engineer in the United States Army at the brink of World War II.
A New start
In 1946 upon returning home from the war, Vince utilized his veteran status to begin buying surplus army excavation equipment. Using his army corps experience, he expanded the excavation business to include home building and later on, commercial properties. After building the first ever shopping center in Monfort Heights, Vince continued his building success with the help of his seven children into apartment complexes and subdivisions.

New Leadership
At the start of 2026, J & D Rack Co., Inc. enters an exciting new chapter of leadership with Stephanie Hall as Chief Executive Office & Cody Rack appointed as President.
This powerhouse duo first met more than a decade ago on a construction jobsite in Leesburg, Ohio. Since that day, Stephanie & Cody have built a strong professional bond rooted in their deep industry knowledge, shared values, and passion for delivering exceptional results.
Together, they bring a proven track record of driving operational excellence, strengthening client relationships, and leading large scale projects from concept to completion. Their complementary strengths and forward thinking leadership will guide our company into its next era of growth.
